According to the CDC, about one in every 33 babies is born with a birth defect. When our son contracted Group B Strep on his third day of life, we became a part of that tragic statistic. My child, Clay, was blind, had cerebral palsy, was fed via G-tube with a 24 hour feeding pump and took as many as 32 medications a day. Thought to only live for three years, our little angel lived for 15 1/2 years. My son became my strength and not my weakness! I was CHOSEN by God to love and care for this child. God chose ME! What a wonderful opportunity and the most important role of my life!
Come with me as I give practical suggestions regarding healthcare, schools and respite care, organizing your household to make life easier, and Scripture verses to memorize and speak to your child. A mother of a special needs child needs to be efficient in time management, especially with other family members in the household! Let’s honor God with our gifts and be thankful to be CHOSEN to serve our little ones.
